FAQs

Question
: Does ZHealth come on-site to do the audit?
Answer: The audit is performed at ZHealth and the findings presentation takes place at your facility. We do come on-site to present our results.

Question
: How long does it take to turn around a coding audit?
Answer: The ZHealth process is fairly quick: about 4 weeks. This process is more efficient if the Provider establishes a Project Manager to oversee collection of all information in a timely manner.

Question
: Who should attend the Audit on-site results presentation?
Answer: Anyone who is involved with the coding/billing process can and should attend. This includes executive leadership, HIM coders, billing staff, technologists, and physicians.

Question
: Is there a minimum number of cases for your outsourced coding service?
Answer:
No – we can code as few as 1-2 cases at a time and accommodate up to full outsourcing for your physician practice or hospital facility.

Question
: Do you consult in any other areas besides interventional radiology, cardiology, and vascular surgery?
Answer:  While we still focus on our specialized areas, we also provide consulting and education services for the subspecialties of electrophysiology and cardiothoracic surgery as well as ICD-10 readiness.

Question
:  Will the physicians come on-site to do education?
Answer:  Yes. The education is tailor-made for your facility.  Our physicians can meet with your physicians for peer-to-peer education as well as other staff such as coders, technologists, etc.  CEUs can also be awarded for these education days as well.  The fee is daily rate plus travel expenses for our physicians to come on-site for education.

Question
: How can you guarantee a 95% accuracy rate for outsourced coding?
Answer: Our physicians, who have performed these procedures, are coding experts in interventional radiology, cardiology, vascular procedures, electrophysiology, and diagnostic radiology. They are also the authors of the ZHealth Publishing reference manuals, the premier source of coding information for these specialty areas. This combined clinical knowledge and coding expertise results in at least a 95% accuracy rate for the thousands of cases they review each month in our specialty areas.

Question
: Why is ZHealth qualified to consult in such complex areas?
Answer: Our ZHealth Consulting team is made up of coders who are physicians and coding experts with decades of experience in this industry. They are also the authors of the ZHealth Publishing reference manuals, the premier source of coding information for these specialty areas.  Over 4,000 hospitals rely on ZHealth for publishing, education, and consulting services.

Question
: What makes your audit different than other coding audits out there?
Answer: Our physicians not only perform the audit, but they start by looking at physician documentation and then they look at the entire coding and billing process, all the way to the final bill. Our results presentation, delivered by dynamic presenters Dr. Z and Dr. Dunn, break down these very complex areas and provide understandable and tangible findings and recommendations for your facility.

Question
: How much does an audit cost?
Answer: Audits vary in price, as they are based on your hospital’s specific needs. Price depends on the scope of the audit performed. Please contact us for a quick proposal or budget estimate.

Answer: The ZHealth physician team reviews all medical necessity cases.

The education sessions may be broken up into specialties such as cardiology, interventional radiology, and electrophysiology.

Question
: How is your ICD-10 physician education structured?
Answer: Our physician education, led by Dr. Zielske, is broken up by specialty (e.g., electrophysiology, cardiology) and each session is only 40-60 minutes in order to accommodate physicians’ busy schedules.
